Taylor Birthday Fun

DSC_0027Today our next door neighbors, the Taylors, threw their eldest daughter a Hawaiian birthday party.

Mary turned 7 a few weeks ago but kids will wait for just about any length of time if it involves a party!

Earlier this morning, Amanda came over to my house and asked if I could come and take pictures of the party.  Her camera had broken a while back and she never got around to buying a new one.  Since Emma was on her way over there anyway it worked out pretty well.

To help take up some of the time as the girls arrived, they all got the chance to make their own sea shell picture frames.  Each of the girls got to pick out the shells that they wanted and glued them on (later on, Justin hot glue gunned the shells on so that they’d stay better).

DSC_0043Everyone went out back and started jumping on the trampoline while Justin threw water balloons onto the tramp and watched them pop as the girls jumped on them.  After a while, the balloons weren’t making enough of an impact so Justin just took out the hose and started spraying!  The girls were all running around screaming but they would always run back to Justin to get wet again 🙂 .

To help speed things along, and keep things interesting, everyone went over the wall to my place and swam for about half an hour.  I love that we have been able to give access to our pool at the drop of a hat to our friends.  It’s so nice to be needed that way!  With the girls over at my place swimming it gave Amanda a second to clean up a bit.  Something she didn’t think about was the fact that they had scheduled a viewing for their house (short sale) at noon which is the exact same time that the part was to go until.

Back at the Taylor’s place, the cupcakes were being prepped and ready for eating while the girls were drying off and getting ready to sing Happy Birthday.  I have to say that Amanda had a good idea with the pineapple and fruit.

What a fun party!  I’m glad I was able to be a part of it.
