Hannah lives in Arizona, but we made the extra effort to be there. We wouldn’t have missed it for the world. We missed her baby blessing due to the fact that we were living in London at the time and it would have cost a little more than gas and a hotel room 🙂 .
With Benjamin getting baptised next year (yikes!) it’s good for him to expose himself to the baptismal process. He was really excited and very emotional about seeing Hannah get baptised.
Before we went over to the church, we took a short little detour to the Mesa, AZ temple. We had never been before and it was literally two minutes out of the way.
Since the trip was going to be about 32 hours total (very short due to our callings, we both had to be back home by Sunday), we tried to pack as much in as possible without overloading the kids. We woke up, went swimming at the hotel, got ready for the baptism, drove to Deseret Book to pick up a present for Hannah, drove around the corner and spend about 30 minutes at the temple (on the grounds), went to the baptism, drove over to John and Camille’s for food and swimming, changed clothes and drove back home!
It wasn’t much of a visit, but it was worth it to get to be apart of her special day! At least it will be her special day until she gets married!!!
If I were a good photographer I would have known to change the aperture when I started taking pictures inside as opposed to outside. But I didn’t, so I had these BEAUTIFUL pictures of the kids with their cousin, right after her confirmation, and they were almost black from the lack of light! I did a little adjusting in Photoshop and this is what I came out with. It’s not perfect, but at least you can see them. (Ahh, I could just scream!)
