Memorial Pictures

Happy Memorial Day to you all!  We have been cooped up in our house for a week trying to get rid of our sicknesses.  It was such a wonderfully beautiful day to celebrate and have a BBQ.  There is no better combination than food and family to have a successful holiday weekend!  I even took the chance to play around with my camera (as usual).

Papa made some pretty amazing ribs on the grill!  This was the kids first time having ribs and I don’t think they were disappointed.  After they were done eating, Papa started telling them a story.  Unbeknownst to the rest of us, he had a pocket full of “snaps” that he pulled out and threw whenever the story called for it 🙂 .

At first the kids were a little nervous, but as Papa’s story got a little more far-fetched they started looking to see where his magic was coming from.

The kids ran around the yard looking for “snaps” that might not have snapped!  It was so much fun to watch them run around, picking them up, and trying to figure out how to make them pop.

All the running around somehow led to a game of soccer.  I think it is so funny that they were all dressed in their patriotic outfits, on an American holiday, all while playing with an English ball!!!

I was able to snap some pictures of all four kids and Jared even had me jump in for a quick shot.  But I have to say, out of all the pictures that I took, the one of Benjamin and Joseph together is my absolute favorite!  They are such amazingly cute boys!!!

After a bunch of eating and playing, we went back in for some more food!  The boys wanted to share with all us girl folk how to make banana boats.  I guess this is one of the things that they learned while camping at the Fathers and Sons.  You basically take a banana, slice it down the middle, stuff it with all kinds of yummy goodness, bake it and then eat it!

I think the most important thing to remember is to have someone wait and watch the oven so that everything comes out looking good!  Joseph did that very important job for us 🙂 .
