This morning I told the kids that I had a big surprise for them but that they had to earn it. There were chores and other things around the house that had to get done before we could go and it would only be available for a couple more hours so they really had to hurry. You should have seen them move! It kind of makes me sad because they don’t work like that unless there’s something in it for them. They just don’t realize the benefits of their work is for them too, they just see it as work!
We didn’t leave as early as I would have liked but the kids still had about two hours to play at the jump zone. We had an appointment at 12:30 and needed to leave a bit earlier to get there in time.
Since our later appointment was to get Jacob’s braces I thought there was no better way to spend his last few hours as a free man! I don’t know if the restriction of the braces is going to discourage him from doing stuff like this in the future.
He was quite the active climber. You could tell he was getting a bit tired when you’d find him playing with the little little babies who were just crawling around. He was content to sit with them and go at their slower pace, then when he’d rested enough he’d be right back into everything!
As you can see, Emma was jumping everywhere! She was the most daring out of all the kids. It was like she was looking for new and different ways to go down the slides. Ever since she turned six it seems that she’s become much more adventurous. I’m not sure how I feel about that. It’s fine now, but I’m nervous about 10 years from now! I guess it’s up to me to make sure that she is able to stretch her wings and learn her limits. Wow, going on playdates can be real soul searching! 😉
