Sweet Genius

The kids love to watch Sweet Genius, and I love that. Like most one-hour cooking competition shows, there is a series of tasks and a chef is eliminated after each one. During the tasks, at two random points, the judge chef introduces a new ingredient or a new element to the challenge. Just when the chefs are comfortable with the original challenge and have planned their way through it, he adds a degree of difficulty or an unexpected twist.

It reminds me of driving in the car with Brianna, and we joke about any random construction obstacle, as if the workers are saying, “Let’s see how they handle this!”

Why do I feel like we are in Sweet Genuis? I feel that we are now getting comfortable with this challenge and have marked out our course…
