Joan Larsen Combs June 30, 1932 – June 11, 2012

Joan Larsen Combs “Buddy”, surrounded by her loving family, returned to her Heavenly Father on June 11, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of “29 again”.

Joan was born June 30, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alma Larsen and Margaret James. She married Ned Bryan Combs in the Salt Lake temple on January 26, 1955. Joan graduated from East High School and later attended Brigham Young University. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She magnified her many callings in the church including years as a primary chorister, serving as a member of the Stake Relief Society Presidency and in the Young Women organization. Joan touched the hearts of many of the youth when her husband served as Bishop of the Holladay 6th Ward. Joan spent many years as a dedicated ordinance worker in the Salt Lake temple and loved the time she spent there with here dear husband. She loved all the sisters she worked with. Joan enjoyed her membership in Sacra Dulce Choir where she sang for several years. She loved to sing. In her youth, she enjoyed roller skating at her dad’s roller rink where she participated in state and regional competitions. Joan was loved by all who knew her. She truly touched everyone she came in contact with. She considered everyone a friend. She will be greatly missed.

Joan is survived by her loving husband Ned and their children Bryan (Jennifer), Becky (Bryce) Limb, Clydia (Dan) Davis, Gordon (single and available), Jim (AnneElise), 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and her brothers Jim, Dean, and Boyd Larsen. She is preceded in death by her parents Alma and Margaret Larsen and her brothers Art and Shirley.

The family would like to thank all of those at IMC, especially those on the 14th, 12th, and 9th floors, who cared for her over the last two months, all of whom she loved dearly.
