“I can Choose the Right by Living the Gospel”

by Emma Johnson

I can choose the right by following the gospel teachings of our living prophet.

President Thomas S. Monson receives revelation for the Church.  He leads the members of the Church in the right path.  Something that President Monson has asked of all the girls in the Church is to dress modestly.  I try very hard to dress modestly so that Heavenly Father and others around me will see that I am a daughter of a King!  I am a princess and so I should dress like one!

Something that I use to help me when deciding if my clothes are modest is “Head, shoulders, knees, and toes”!

When I put my hands on my head, does my tummy show?

If I put my hands on my shoulders, can you see under my arms?

If I bend down and touch my knees and toes, are my clothes too short?

We should all make sure we are being modest when we dress.  Heavenly Father said in The Strength of Youth pamphlet, “Your dress and grooming send messages about you to others and influence the way you and others act.  When you are modestly dressed you invite the Spirit and can exercise a good influence on those around you.”
