Cupcakes

dscn1300Today was supposed to be a regular grocery shopping day.  We did all the small stuff at WalMart and then headed to Sam’s Club to get some bulk items.  When we walked through the front door we were greeted with balloons and music.  Today was the one year anniversary of our neighborhood Sam’s Club.

They made sure to tell me that the kids could get their very own cupcakes back by the bakery, so we headed in that direction first.

As Emma and Joseph both picked up their cupcakes, they wobbled on the plate and then fell to the ground.  They both broke out into tears!  The woman helping them had compassion on us and told us to come back in just a few minutes and that she had a surprise to make everything all better.

rscn1307When we came back she gave each of the kids a hair net and let them back into the bakery.

They each got a cupcake of their choosing and then she helped each of them ice it with whatever color frosting they wanted.

She then brought out jars of candy that she put on plates for each of them to use and decorate their cupcakes with.  I will admit that a lot of the candy went straight to the mouths rather than the frosting 🙂 .

dscn1306We ditched the plates this time around and I just let them each hold their own.  This turned out much more effective and the kids were able to eat their cupcakes rather than wipe them off the floor.  It was really funny to watch them savor each bite and lick of their masterpieces, and they had a nice little memento for the next several hours- their lips were dyed the color of the frosting!

  1. So cool! I guess it’s a good think the cupcake fell.
